Historiated initial and details from the borders of f.61v of MS A.4(IV), Giovanni d’Andrea’s Glossa ordinaria in Librum Sextum (English, c. 1335-50). The initial shows a doctor before whom stand four litigants, one of whom has a white beast curled around his neck. The borders incorporate a hanging man, a stag and a hound.
